Position Purpose
To ensure that the accounting and control procedures are in place in accordance with company policy and local requirements and regulations. Upkeep all financial information, prepare financial reports to determine record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities. Responsible for the accounting of physical inventory transactions, price protection, and assigned account reconciliations. Monitor stock ledger activity and develop inventory reports.
Working Hours
· 48 hours/week, 6 days/week, work schedules depend on the volume of business
Accounts Payable Accountant: Duties and Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
· Handle accounts payable and receivable in compliance with company policy and procedures.
· Supervise supplier and client payments – preparation and processing of payments at due times.
· Obtain all suppliers and clients balance information client payments
· Implement financial controls in the businesses which prevent misuse and misappropriation of stock, funds or assets.
· Ensure efficient cost control measures.
· Prepare daily & weekly reports which include but are not limited to sales analysis, payables & receivables, imports, distribution and cost reports.
· Prepare monthly reports summarizing the performance of the business, which includes a P&L, variance analysis against budget and forecast, balance sheet and cash flow, focus areas for the next month, control weaknesses and corrective actions.
· Prepare financial statistical reports for the management to facilitate timely reconciliation of various designated accounts and keep them informed of the status and timely action.
· Manage all banking related transactions within the company.
· Daily cash flow monitoring and management which includes the management of payables.
· Monitor supplier/customer agreements regarding respective revenue and costs associated with them.
· Use industry experience and initiative to identify areas for cost cutting and/or revenue improvement.
· Manage and coordinate internal and external audits.
· Knowledge of accounting software – SAP B1, Tally, Sun Systems, Fidelio.
· Professional and able to communicate clearly with internal and external customers.
· Strong commercial mindset.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Language Skills
· English – proficiency in spoken and written English
· Additional languages – preferred

· Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field required.
· Minimum 4-5 years of Accounting experience with a UAE foodstuff trading company.
· General food retail experience desirable.
· Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Access.
