Architectural & Audio Visual Design Drafter: Job Requirements
The architectural CAD drafter is expected to work closely with the LDCL team to deliver and engineer designs and drawings for various projects assigned as well as to ensure the timeliness and quality of submitted designs. The candidate is required to be familiar with CAD software. Working hours shall follow standard office hours, with overtime requirements occasionally due to respective project demands.This is a part-time role to start with opportunities for conversion to full-time employment.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to use CAD software to create detailed architectural and construction drawings with good formatting and presentation
- Handles drafting and designing assignments with supervision and reviews drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Able to create drawings and models from verbal and written specifications that are obtained from the project engineer
- Works alongside engineers/designers regarding drafting standards, model design and accuracy, and design documentation.
- Works closely with engineers/designers and other drafters to ensure the maintenance of coordination design efforts. He/She completes project responsibilities within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Able to provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the design team and participates in project conference calls and meetings if required.
- To execute projects effectively as planned as well as communicate project status and escalate issues to the engineering manager when appropriate.
- 2D CAD drafting across multi-disciplinary areas such as Architectural, Interior Design, Structural, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, and Audio-Visual
- Ability to produce architectural floor plans, elevations, and sectional detail layouts to building standards
- Ability to produce engineering detailed diagrams such as schematics, interconnection diagrams, etc. – [Preferred but not compulsory]
- 3D Modelling & Rendering
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is compulsory. Additional preferences include familiarity with one or more of the following software: Revit, Sketchup, IronCAD, Solidworks, Maya, and 3dsMax.
- Ability to conduct intermediate-level graphic design works (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator) – [Preferred but not compulsory]
- Ability to review engineering and technical documentation, specifications, construction & architectural standards
- Ability to meet and liaise with clients for design meeting discussions and presentations
- Organized, consistent, and able to pay high attention to detail
- Diploma/ Degree in Architecture
- 1-2 years of working experience. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply for this position.
- Good working knowledge of CAD software (or other equivalent CAD software).
- Computer Literate (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
- Ability to communicate in English- both oral and written.
- Technical ability and experience is certainly valued and preferable, but not a compulsory requirement.
