Essential Responsibilities

 

Job Title: Part Time HR Assistant

Location: Los Angeles,Santa Monica / Hybrid

Mainly remote work. Sometimes work at Melrose Office or Santa Monica Office

Work hours 10:00am to 10:00pm (Up to 8 hours/Day)

Start Salary: $18/Hour

General Position Summary

This position is responsible for performing administrative duties in human resources function in accurate, efficient and timely manner including, payroll processing, benefit administration and personnel record filing; supporting HR Manager in clerical HR-related tasks as requested.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Administration

Compiles or updates payroll data such as pay rate, personnel or personal information, time & attendance records, benefit deduction while verifying completeness and accuracy.

Communicates and reports any payroll information change, tax information and other base data required for each payroll to payroll outsourcing company in a timely manner by email, fax or telephone.

Corresponds to the employees regarding payroll inquiries and resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.

Reconciles payroll-related activity and interact with outsourcing companies to clear reconciling items; balances current, month-to-date and year-to-date payroll registers.

Benefit Administration

Enters and updates the employee information upon events uses the benefits management system.

Acts as liaison between employees, insurance providers or brokers in enrollment or termination administration and to resolve benefit related problems and ensures effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.

Prepares benefits invoices, reconciles against withholding reports, and processes for management review and payment.

Employee Hiring & Onboarding and Separation Administration

Supports HR Manager in the hiring process including researching the appropriate recruiting sources, initiating background checks, preparing documents for new hires, and assisting new-hire orientation as well.

Filing & Record keeping:

Creates employee file and files all personnel related documents including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations in each employee’s personnel and confidential folders.

Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeps past and current records.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
