Lighting Control Engineer designs and specifies lighting control systems used with LED luminaires. The role provides direction for fixture level controls integration to mechanical engineering team, optimizes the RF or other elements of the lighting controls system for best performance, and tests compatibility at various levels such as fixture level, sub-system level and system level.
The position creates, executes and summarizes test and evaluation plans for assigned projects, writes test plan for wired and wirelessly controlled luminaires, and designs custom test fixtures, while also working with in-house or external app development team for lighting controls app. Additionally, the Lighting Control Engineer prepares and releases proper documentation for assigned projects, provides multi-discipline support for resolving technical issues associated with control components, products or systems, and provides recommendations for cost reduction efforts
