Multi-Skilled Journalist : Job Responsibilities and Work Requirements
- Originating, writing, shooting, editing, interviewing, researching, and producing television and online news stories for the Vancouver market
- Will also be periodically responsible for broadcast producing, writing (including online) and the news assignment desk
- Utilizing ENG equipment (Atlas) & digital editing software (Adobe Pro) to produce stories in a timely, engaging and accountable manner
- Edit content in the station and in the field
- Set up and operation of live equipment (Dejero)
- Close attention to legal, ethical, and accuracy issues in reporting
- Writing and producing engaging and relevant content for digital
- Social networking of news content
Minimum Educational Qualifications Requirements : Multi-Skilled Journalist
- Proven background in news gathering and reporting with a strong editorial sense and news judgement
- Experience in Electronic News Gathering, Video/Audio/Editing
- Journalism / University level education a definite asset
- Strong competency in social networking of news content
- Strong written, research, camera and presentation skills
- Self-initiative and ability to work independently under pressure of deadlines
- Keen interest in and understanding of current events, local community issues and political structures
- Ability to travel on short notice an asset
- Must be available to work a rotation of days, evenings, weekends and holidays
