Job description

Nova Mental Health is a busy, fee-for-services, mental health clinic located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. We are seeking a Registered Psychologists (or those eligible for registration).

Clinicians at our clinic are passionate about client care and provide evidence-based psychological services ( (e.g,. cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, trauma-informed care, supportive parenting for anxious childhood behaviour SPACE). We strive to create a supportive, collaborative, and warm team environment and provide our clinicians with training, consultation, peer supervision, and resources. We provide individual and group therapy.

Clinicians are compensated based on a split-fee for services model (with a renewable 6 month contract) and are provided a great deal of flexibility in their schedules. We currently have contract-based, associate positions with substantive room for growth, our ideal candidate is interested in a long-term associate relationship with our clinical practice. Dr. Gabriela Ionita also provides supervision to Ph.D.-level clinicians who are in the process of registration with the College of Psychologists of BC.

Note that clinicians with Nova Mental Health operate as independent contractors (“associates”).

Location:

We are located in North Vancouver at the Lonsdale Quay (right next to the ferry terminal). However, a current benefit is that clinicians are able to work from home and see clients in our beautiful office.

Education and Experience Requirements:

· Registered Psychologist in good standing with the BC College of Psychologists (or eligible for registration)

· Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, preferably from a CPA or APA accredited graduate program prior to start date

· Two years of recent related experience in therapeutic, diagnostic/assessment, and consultation services in the areas of mental health

· Experience and training in evidence-based treatments is a must

· Previous training and experience with OCD is an asset but not a requirement.

· Ability to work in a team environment, flexibility, and strong written and oral communication skills

· Professional autonomy

· Willing to commit to 6-month renewable contract, with interest in becoming a long-term member of our established practice
