Job Type: permanent, part-time position 24.5 hours per week (ideal candidate will have the ability to work 37.5 hours per week for the first 3 months to facilitate training)
Rate: $21/hour (may be eligible for wage increase upon successful completion of the onboarding period)
Shifts: flexible hours, 24.5 hours per week, occasional evening and weekend availability required

About YOU CAN RIDE 2:
You Can Ride 2 (YCR2) creates accessible cycling opportunities for children with disabilities. YCR2 programs aim to reduce barriers to cycling and give children the freedom to ride with their families. In 2003, the organization began a 6 week Learn to Ride course for children between the ages of 8-18 wishing to learn to ride a 2-wheeler. In 2013, YCR2 also added a Borrow a Bike program which loaned specialized bikes to children whose special needs prevented them from riding a standard trike or bicycle. You can Ride 2 proudly supports around 200 children every year access cycling opportunities.
The Job:
Are you our next Program Coordinator? Reporting YCR2 Lead Team, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will work with the vision and direction of the existing program volunteers to manage the ongoing operations of the YCR2 program. You will be supporting volunteers, coordinating events, fundraising working with community partners and reporting to the Board on program activities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing program administration including program reporting, website and social media management, file management and supply and inventory management.
- Overseeing the financial management of YCR2 including invoicing, tracking donations and managing budgets.
- Planning and coordinating community events and registered programs.
- Managing program volunteers with the support pf the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Communicating with clients, volunteers, community partners and the public.
- Spearheading fundraising efforts.
- Developing relationships with the community at large and corporate sponsorships.
- Working closely with the mechanics to ensure bikes meet the needs of individuals.
- Promoting cycling safety.
- Preparing and delivering presentations to represent YCR2 at community and corporate events.
- Working with the YCR2 Board to develop a strategic plan focussed on program sustainability.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 1-2 years experience with program coordination and development including fundraising and planning events.
- 1-2 years experience managing volunteers including recruitment, training and scheduling.
- Experience in bicycle maintenance and repair is an asset.
- Relationship building skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Strong communication skills demonstrating the ability to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
- Creativity/Innovation: ability to develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities.
- Client-centered Focus: ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Positive leadership skills encouraging others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
- Strong decision-making ability to determine importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities.
- Ability to determine strategies and create plan to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results.
- Ability to assess challenges, identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the challenges.
- You deliver amazing customer service by going above and beyond for all YCR2 Goodwill customers.
- You demonstrate teamwork and engage fellow Team Members in contributing to Goodwill’s mission & core purpose.
- You have an open and honest attitude while making moral decisions.
