Essential Responsibilities
- Agreeing a style and fabric with the customer
- Working out how long it will take and the cost of producing the garment
- Producing a pattern, either by hand or using computer aided design
- Sewing garments
- Fitting the garment and marking any alterations.
- Creating a design (either by adapting an existing pattern or developing a new design)
- Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques, and seeking design inspiration.
Minimum Qualifications
- Sewing garments
- Agreeing a style and fabric with the customer
- Producing a pattern, either by hand or using computer aided design
