We are hiring Cantonese/Mandarin-speaking PSW. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Nursing students / PSW students / International Educated Nurses are welcome

. Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate

· Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check

· Valid First/Aid CPR HCP and BLS certificate.

. COVID 19 fully vaccinated

. TB test

.· Availability to nights / evenings and every other weekend

· Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.

· Ability to work well within a changing environment.

· Basic computer skills would be an asset

. Access to personal car

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist person(s) with activities of daily living such as feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting.
• Assist with medication and medication reminders to person(s) following an established employer or government policy.
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, washing dishes, and doing laundry.
• Must continuously observe person(s) and their environments and report and document unsafe conditions and behavioural, physical, and/or cognitive changes to an appropriate supervisor, i.e. family member, employer, care coordinator etc.
• Must communicate and demonstrate basic information to the person(s) in relation to activities of daily living, light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, pre-established Plan of Care.
• Must complete and maintain related records and documentation such as communication books and progress notes.

This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.

COVID-19 considerations:
Full-PPE will be provided with PPE donning and doffing, infection control training and regular monthly PPE audit.
