The volunteer Content Editor is an important role that not only ensures our content has correct grammar, syntax, and punctuation; but that our posts are relevant and engaging to our audience. The editing position requires knowledgeable and experienced professionals that take immense pride in their work, and who are comfortable providing clear and concise feedback to the writers they work with.
The Content Editor will play a mentorship role to their writing team, while collaborating with fellow editors to improve the clarity, consistency, and conciseness of the team’s work. Our editors must be comfortable with complex and sensitive topics, while capable of ensuring the finished copy serves both PCF, and our community members. Several editing positions are available currently.
Content Editor: Job Responsibilities
- Edit articles/posts to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax
- Edit articles/post to ensure they are relatable/interesting and engaging to the audience
- Ensure the tone/form and voice are consistent with the organization’s brand image of being positive, compassionate, and professional
- Edit all content developed for assigned channels for the writers apportioned to you
- Adheres to deadlines, communicating in advance when not able to fulfill assignments.
- Ensure sources/references accompany the post, and that they are from the approved credible sources listing
Minimum Educational Qualifications, Eligibility Criteria : Content Editor
- Bachelor’s degree (journalism or communications preferred)
- 2-3 years relevant experience editing content, post-education.
- Ability to manage and work under tight deadlines
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, above-average grammar, and a keen eye for detail
- Previous professional experience in editing or related field is preferred
